When you start to see black and dark brown staining this is the stages of brown rot fungi. Our process does not use high pressure from a power washer. We use a soft wash process by lightly spraying cleaners onto the surface that will eliminate all algae spores.
We then use garden hose pressure to rinse off your cedar shakes removing all cleaners. Cedar shakes do not need to be sealed or stained because they need to breathe. Staining and sealing shakes are just an expensive add on service that does not need to be done and should not be applied.
